"No Phone While Driving" Starting May 18

A new law is raised to commence on May 18, 2017, Thursday, regarding the prohibition of using cellphones of motorists while driving.

This law is set to be  effective nationwide and will expect thorough action by enforcers assigned on the street.

"Cellphone usage" is described  as; texting, calling, chatting, browsing, playing, and glancing the phone while inside the vehicle as a driver even in the condition of traffic are all covered  by the prohibition of this law.

Mobile phone-based agencies like Grab and Uber expressed their understanding on the law and assured compliance with it. Saying that the phone will be placed near the driver's aircon vent to avoid the tendency on them to look down.

The point of this law is to make the driver -not to lose the "line of sight" while driving.

The implementation of this law connotes distinct reactions to people but majority shared their agreement about the safety logic behind the strict rule.

Penalties shall be expected if there is a failure in complying the new order.
