From the alleged violation of the Anti-Red Tape Law caused by an identified driver of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) itself, the regional director Gomer Dy shared his stand against this issue by guaranteeing the public that their office is not tolerating any form of corruption.
His statement goes:
"The Land Transportation Office-Region XI has no tolerance for corruption within its office and area of responsibility. In fact, an official request has been sent in May this year to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) to launch an investigation and go after individuals who are tarnishing the anti-corruption efforts of LTO-11.
Although the personnel involved, Mamerto Tumpag Jr, is a driver-designate to the office of the Regional Director, his services are only on official time. Other than official, this office had no knowledge nor participation of whatever his personal activities are, legal or illegal.
The regional office will pursue further internal investigations but rest assured that due process will be observed.
This campaign is in accordance with the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte to ensure efficient and corruption-free government service."
