MT. APO NOW OPEN, BUT DOT IS HESITANT | DAVAO PLACES

The board has decided to make Mt. Apo open again for public visit and for trekkers/hikers. Says, its about time. But the Department of Tourism is hesitant with this decision. Appealing to the reason that the mountain still needs more time to revive itself.

Remembering the incident last March 2016, where the mountain was caught on fire and damaging its natural resources. DOT also raised that there is nothing good yet to see up there and the obvious remnants is still present from the last year's disaster. In relation to their vision to promote ecotourism in the region, this move is bad according to them.

DOT wanted the decision to be thought over again. If in the case that their request will not be considered, they wanted to make sure that there will be a strict compliance and regulation on the mountain.

Mt. Apo is known in Davao since it is the highest mountain in the country. It is also popular for travelers and tourist to have a look at this prestigious site.
